In celebration of our 21-year legacy, Whisky Live is thrilled to invite you back to the Whisky Live Festival – an event that pays homage to the enchanting World of Whisky.
Over the next few weeks we are going to introduce to you our amazing range of product that you can expect to find and enjoy at Whisky Live, from 1 – 3 November 2023 at the Firs in Rosebank.
HARRIER NOBLE OAK
Meticulously crafted by our master distiller and matured in American Oak for a delightfully complex, velvety smooth, easy-sipping experience.
South African grain, aged in oak. Matured in charred American Oak.
TASTING NOTES
SERVING SUGGESTION
Colour: Warm gold
Nose: Delicate; with oak, sweet grainy aromas, and hints of caramel and chocolate.
Palate: Well-balanced spice and oak reveal notes of dried peaches, cereal, and biscuits.
Finish: Soft and lingering with a crisp, clean finish.
A ONE-OF-A-KIND DISTILLER
Founder Distiller Andy Watts has pioneered many South African whisky firsts, including the country’s first single grain whisky. After a stint learning the art of whisky making at Morrison Bowmore Distillers in Scotland, Andy was appointed as only the sixth Master Distiller of The James Sedgwick Distillery in Wellington since its inception in 1886.
It was his vision and perseverance that perfected Bain’s over ten years, making it one of the first single grains on the market, long before the trend of single grain took hold.
A SINGULAR VISION
Andy has been instrumental in the many accolades and awards won by The James Sedgwick Distillery, including the award for World’s Best Grain Whisky 2018 at the World Whiskies Awards.
It is his vision to produce unique whiskies that cement South Africa on the New World Whisky map that sets him apart from other distillers. It is this singular vision that has also seen him receive global recognition, including global Icon of Whisky Master Distiller/Master Blender for 2018.
